Sparck Technologies awarded Royal designation
Sparck Technologies, the automated packaging specialist, has received the prestigious Royal designation ‘By Royal Warrant’ from His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
Bestowing the honour at a ceremony held at Spark Technologies’ global headquarters in Drachten on March 13th, Arno Brok, the King’s Commissioner for Friesland, said: “Sparck Technologies has a reputation for innovation, technology, and progress – a solid, healthy and future-proofed company with ambitions. That’s something to be proud of. I am delighted to inform you that His Majesty The King has seen fit to grant the company the Royal designation.”
The Royal Warrant is a special recognition that is only granted to companies that have existed for at least one hundred years and that have achieved and maintained an excellent reputation over that time. Individual board members must be known for their integrity, high standards of social responsibility and have an impeccable character. The company must also be a vibrant organisation that is well-run and contributes to society in a meaningful way.
Companies that receive this designation are allowed to incorporate the Royal Crown into their logo and use the title ‘Royal’.
On receiving the honour, Kees Oosting, CEO of Sparck Technologies, said: “It is a great privilege to receive the Royal designation. This is the crowning achievement of 100 years of entrepreneurship and innovation. Everyone at Sparck is honoured that we have been granted this Royal accolade ‘By Royal Warrant’.”
Founded on 21st June 1924, Sparck Technologies celebrated 100 years of innovation in 2024. What started as a manufacturer of clog-making machines has grown into a global leader in automated packaging systems for custom-sized boxes.
Specifically designed for the exacting demands of e-commerce, these packaging lines enable fast, efficient, and environmentally friendly packing and shipping of orders of varying sizes – each box tailored to individual customer’s needs.
A passion for innovation remains the driving force behind Sparck Technologies, and through its employees across Europe and the United States, Sparck has made it its mission to make ‘right-sized’ sustainable packaging the global standard in e-commerce.
